Combining Shani's rock and global musical influences with Carolyn's Celtic folk feel, the result is two strong voices with bass & guitar, presenting their eclectic songs and sounds. Tu were formed in the summer of 2006 in response to a challenge! The challenge was tu form a new collaboration to perform at the Red Lion Folk Festival in Cambridge. Carolyn and Shani, who were unknown tu each other as musicians but had a mutual friend in common, decided that it would be a fun thing tu do. Little did they know! The instant affinity the two musicians felt, despite different backgrounds both personally and musically, meant a natural synergy that has endured well beyond the one off for the Red Lion and has resulted in a tight, well-rehearsed duo who are now launching themselves on the UK acoustic, rock, ambient and folk scene. Both songwriters, singers and seasoned performers in their own right, Tu - together - form a unique combination that defies pigeonholing. Tu are looking to play wherever their music will be appreciated, whatever the genre.
